Introduction:-
This village study is a part of our fellowship activity, so we went to the village called Madikoppa it was very good village, according to the schedule we are live in two days in that village, main purpose of the study was understand the village. Fortunately we get good village in this place people are very much innocent and hard workers.
Back ground of the village
We are two fellows went to village study 10 April to 11 April in Madikoppa, taluk – Dharwad. It is very small village it has only 50 households, all family belongs to agriculture background means there main occupation was agriculture. Whole day they are working in the farm. One important thing was all villagers’ belongs to Hindu Maratha religion. The village has nearly 400 populations. Villagers are growing in the farm muster seeds, wheat, red gram, green gram, sugarcane; it was become commercial crop while factory established four years back all famers growing sugar cane only, because of money. This village had 3 hand pumps and six drinking water tanks it providing drinking water to the all people, it solved the people water problem.
Madikoppa has one big lake it gives whole year water to the agriculture field, government of Karnataka small irrigation department rejuvenating the lack, all farmers very much proved reason was while drought this lack not bared it has full of water. This is the only one big and sustainable source for the farmer’s field, so all farmers cultivating sugarcane.
Madikoppa villagers were migrating people. They migrated from Gulekoppa its near to the Madikoppa, reason for migration was there land in the Madikoppa not in Gulikoppa so they shift to the Madikoppa. Village people economic condition was poor Government provided them some financial support to the people.  More people grow sugarcane because nowadays sugar profit is high that’s why people growing in the farm.
People are doing animal husbandry. It gives work to the old age people. They take care of the cow, buffalo, sheep, goat, and this sheep one or two years after it earned three to four thousand incomes. So finally it gives income to the farmers but one main thing was it was not Burdon of them, it is side business for them along with the agriculture activity they take care of the animals. Agriculture byproducts providing fodder to the animals, so it encourage to the farmers to practicing animal husbandry.  Daily villagers getting 2 to 5 litter milk. It is very helpful for their life. People are caring animals daily; it was the main live stock for them.
Madikoppa village has one anganwadi it has 30 children but while we visiting only 15 children are there in the anganwadi, one sad thing was recently means 2 months back anganwadi teacher died due to the illness. So now helper running the anganwadi but it was not working properly.
Madikoppa has big traditional background so it has three temples are available in the village, temples are Kriyamma devi temple, Basavanna Gudhi, Vitthal temple. Every year people are celebrating festival in the village. All people gathering the one place and celebrating the festival and after that played some games, like weight lifting. People were not only  focusing farming activity they spend some time to gathering and spend time together it built good relation with all community one main thing was it helps to make common understanding the within the community.
This village has not proper bus facility; morning and evening only two buses crossing the village, in rest of the time people should walk and caught the bus. When people get sick they must travel 10 to 15Km, to reach the hospital. Pregnant woman defending on 108 ambulances.  In the village have one school; now students get summer holiday, teacher went to his native place. This school has all facility like toilet, water tank, wash room, play ground.
Some people growing onion, in January to April it was good crop but it needs lot of water it suitable for the irrigated farm. Another main profitable crop was flowers, farmers harvesting flowers two days once it gives whole year profit for the farmers. What I feel is it was one of the good crops it helps to economic sustainability to the farmers. Farmers doing business in the village, Madikoppa farmer facing one big problem that was scarcity of labors, they practicing exchange of the labors, it was they themselves finding the solution for the problem of the labor.  Most of the people grove in the farm sugarcane, everyone not is not getting labors for the farm work. Now farmers are facing labor problem. This scarcity of labor leads to the piece rise, per day labor demand was 250 to 300 rupees.

Learning:-
I learned village structure, life style, daily activity, how to communicate with village people. In the village people gave respect us. They are very helpful nature. They are giving facilities like we are their relationship person. I learned how they behave with other people in the village. I learned how they grow in the farm corps. I learned how they adjustment in the village life. It’s very important the life. They don’t want to waste time. They are not free in morning time. They give every person respect in their culture. They are using their own resources to solve their problems. Their personality is very good. I like their helping nature. Village people some time they didn’t give respect because they experienced any one problem. They are fear to talk with unknowing person. I learned how their daily routine in the village life.
Challenge:-
¢  Food (availability this situation only for one day)
¢  Accommodation
¢  Transport
¢  Toilet
¢  Mobilizing  people
¢  Convincing people

Experience:-
It was good experience for me; I never sleep in open unknown place like kariaymma temple.
Open defecation was very horrible experience for me
No bathing for two days
Totally this village stay was good and new experience for me

Conclusion
We were gone to village Madikoppa it was very nice place. We did village study on that village. What I felt is village have not sanitation concept, because of all people practicing open defecation in the village. This is the main problem of the village. We thought they adjusted that practice; they have no problem for that. Other problem was transport facility in a day only one bus it went through village twice a day, people are straggling a lot with the this types of the transporting facility.
Within the two days I came to know the overall structure of the village, and try to understand the life style of the villagers, what I felt was I fulfill my objectives, so I can say this village study was very successful.

He is belongs to Maratha community. One important thing was whole villagers belongs to same community. He has 12 Acers of land. He was earlier staying in Gulikappa now he is staying in Madikoppa, because his land stands placed in Madikoppa. In his farm he grow paddy, wheat, sugarcane stick, but whole year. He was growing difference types of crops in his farm.
In his land defends on lake water. This is the only one source provide irrigation water to the farm, in whole year, so farmers cultivated difference types of corps in difference season. Like onion in January to March, sugar cane sticks January to December. Earlier he grows red sugar cane. it was used only for eating. When factory was start all farmers’ cultivated commercial types of sugar cane. It gives more money.

Earlier their grandparents living in Madikoppa, somehow disaster taken place so all villagers went to Gollikoppa. After some years, means his time he came and built house first time in the village in forty years back (1970).
Starting he was facing lot of difficulties, daily he used to walk five kilometers in mud rood it was very difficult to walk during rainy season, after that all other farmers came built a house, because of their cultivated land placed Madikoppa. He himself not coming along with him animals also came to village he built shelter for that. After some years this village formed like two big roads, besides the road full of houses and animal shelter.
In his farm he cultivated deferent types of the crops, like muster seeds, paddy, wheat, cotton, horse gram, earlier some of the land properly irrigated, so some part of the land cultivable not all, they defending on rain,  when lack rejuvenated all farm get sufficient water.
Now time will totally change all young youths are migrating to words city, here one factory was established that is sugar cane factory. Last five years all farmers cultivating commercial sugar cane croup it gives more money to the farmers, some place scarcity of water then bore wells came all farmers dig the bore so now they have no water problem.
